My Own Burgers
When Lee and I got married he only liked burgers from a restaurant. I was convinced that I could make delicious burgers at home on the grill. After many attempts, I created burgers that he says are “the best burgers!”.
I typically make 10 burgers, and freeze them. This way I can put 2 in the fridge in the morning, and they are thawed any ready for the grill at dinner time.
Su’s Burgers
4 pounds 85% lean ground beef (this makes 10 burgers)
1/2 Cup shredded Parmesan Cheese
1/4 finely diced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
salt & pepper to taste
Mix up everything well, except the beef. Then add the beef. (The reason I mix the other ingredients first, is to prevent over handling the beef. Over handling gives you tough burgers and less flavor.) Then add the meat and mix just to combine everything.
Lay out 10 sheets of plastic wrap, and portion out the burgers on to each sheet. Gently pat the burgers into patties. Wrap with plastic wrap. Wrap again with foil. Freeze.
To cook, heat grill to 400 degrees. Place burgers on grill, 4 minutes per side (heat to 160 degrees). Add cheese if you like!
