Keeping the Search Alive

After you have finished your grieving period (see Cleaning!), you will need to create a plan for your job search.

  1. You do need to keep a record in the unlikely event that unemployment asks to see it. I have found that keeping this documentation keeps me honest. They are asking for 3-4 applications per week, and that is super easy to do. I spend 1-2 hours per week ‘job hunting’.

  2. As much as I want all of us to relish, relax, and renew during this time; it is important to keep a few ‘lines in the water’ (Yes, I love to fish, and the metaphor works well here!) to ensure you do not miss out on a great opportunity.

Here I will share job search websites I am using, tips on updating your resume, how to write a cover letter, and how to keep your spirits up when the phone does not ring.
