Holiday Baking
You know I love to cook and bake, so having enough time to do holiday baking this year was incredibly fun! I chose to bake 7 different cookies, some holiday themed, and some are family favorites.
Hanukkah Sugar Cookies-I used a keto recipe and found these rolled out easily, and I had lots of fun decorating them!
Tie-Dyed Sugar Cookies-I used the same Sugar Cookie recipe. I cut them into simple rounds. Then I prepared royal icing. I poured 1/3 of the icing into 3 small bowls. I colored the icings-orange, pink, and purple. Then I placed a spoonful of each color on top of each other on a plate. Then I dipped each cookie into the icing and twist it until the cookie is well coated.
Keto Butter Pecan Cookies-These taste like a buttery pecan shortbread cookie. Delightful!
Slice and Bake-Penguin Cookies-I found this on the Food Network website. I thought they were soooo cute I had to try to make them. Are they a lot of fussing? Sure! But it is delightful when you slice them and find a penguin!
Macaroons-I have been making these for Passover for years. Everyone loves them, so I thought I would make them for the holidays. These are my Father In-Laws favorite, so I made a double batch!
Candy Cane Meringues-I found this recipe in People Magazine. I love making meringue because it is so exciting to start with a wet mixture and end up with a fluffy gorgeous meringue. Then I striped red food gel on the inside of the piping bag to create the ‘candy cane’ look. Super fun!
Almond Lace Cookies-This is one of my favorites from Martha Stewart. Just a few simple ingredients, then bake. Then when you take them out of the oven you wrap them around a wooden spoon. This creates a lacy round wafer.
