“What’s For Dinner?”
Every afternoon (sometimes before 8:00 AM!!) my husband (Lee) texts me to ask “What’s for dinner tonight?”. He says he likes to look forward to it, and to make the right choice for lunch. He inherited this trait from his father. When we are out for dinner Lee’s Dad will ask what we are having for dinner before the plates have been cleared. Knowing that Lee learned this from his Dad makes me love them both just a little more!
I always have a menu planned for the week, so the question never catches me off-guard. But, let’s admit it, it can be challenge to come up with fun and exciting dinner ideas!!
My meal planning process looks like this…..
Review on-line or printed sales/specials at my local grocery store. (I was not doing this prior to my job loss. But now with less income and more time, sales have new importance!) I review things on sale and what coupons I have, and plan the menu for the week.
Each week I have committed to a few things:
Trying a new recipe every week
Taco Tuesday (My husband loves tacos, so I mix up the protein each week.)
Meatless Monday (This can be fish, seafood, or something fun like Portobello Mushrooms!)
Here will will share my menus, and some recipes each week.
I would love it if you tried them and share your results!!
