Dan’s Cure-All

Years ago, my brother Dan shared this afternoon pick-me-up drink with me. (it’s also a great hang-over cure!) I fell in love with the refreshing flavor, and the restorative qualities. At the beginning of the quarantine in March, I made one every afternoon. And I am still making one every day!

I typically make this around 3:00 PM, as the day is winding down. It gives me a boost, and the ginger and turmeric have incredible health benefits.

  • Aids digestion

  • Helps to fight the flu and common cold

  • Reduces muscle pain and soreness (great for those of us pushing ourselves during our daily workouts!)

  • Lowers blood sugar

  • Aids in brain function

Dan’s Cure-All

1/2 lemon juiced (Use fresh lemon or fresh lime juice)

1” fresh ginger, peeled and grated (I use the microplane pictured below. I use this for everything! You can get it for about $15.)

1/4” fresh turmeric, peeled and grated (If you cannot find this it is just perfect without it.)

(You can add Stevia if you need it, but I love the sour bite of the lemon and ginger!)

Place lemon juice, grated ginger and turmeric in large glass, and add cold water and ice if you like.

(When it is cold outside, I switch this up and add boiling water for an afternoon warm-up.)
