Freezing lemons
In an effort to utilize all of the lemons my friend sent me, I began to think about how to save them for later. I decided to slice them, and place them on a cutting board (my baking sheets do not fit in my freezer) in the freezer. I left them in the freezer for 2 hours.
Then, placed them in 1 quart freezer bags. I labeled them with the date and contents. Freezing them separately, allows me to pull one or two out at a time (they do not ‘clump’ together). Put them back in the freezer to enjoy later!
When my generous supply of lemons runs out, I can go to the freezer, and pull out 2-3 and drop them in a glass of water. They will chill and flavor my water, and remind me of the my friend’s citrus orchard in Arizona!!
Ready for the freezer.
Frozen, packaged, labeled, and ready to go back in the freezer.
